Why learners choose us

Learning built for this stage of life

Paced for adult learners

Courses run over multiple weeks, allowing time for reading, reflection, and questions. There is no expectation of speed.

Singapore-specific content

Every course is built around CPF, SRS, HDB, SGX, and the MAS regulatory framework — not generic material adapted from elsewhere.

Practical documentation focus

Learners leave with organised records and worksheets, not just knowledge. The materials serve a purpose after the course ends.

Small discussion groups

Our equity course includes moderated group sessions. Questions that feel awkward in large rooms are welcomed here.

Measured, honest language

We do not overstate outcomes. Courses explain how things work — not how to make a large sum in a short period.

Specialist instructors

The retirement drawdown course includes a final session with a retirement specialist. You speak with someone who knows the subject in depth.

Questions

Frequently asked

Who are these courses designed for? +

Pulau Learning courses are designed for adults in their forties, fifties, and early sixties who wish to understand their own financial situation with greater clarity. No financial background is required. The courses assume only that you hold some of the accounts and instruments discussed.

How are the courses delivered? +

Courses are delivered in a combination of structured reading materials, guided worksheets, and scheduled group or individual sessions. The exact format is outlined on each course's page. Sessions are conducted in English.

Are the courses accredited or regulated? +

Pulau Learning provides financial education, not regulated financial advice. Our content is educational in nature and is designed to help you understand your own accounts and options. We do not hold a Financial Adviser's Licence and do not make personal recommendations within the courses.

What is the typical time commitment per week? +

Most participants set aside three to four hours per week for readings, worksheet completion, and any scheduled sessions. Courses are structured so that a learner with a moderate work schedule can proceed without pressure.

Can I enrol in more than one course at the same time? +

We generally advise completing one course before beginning the next. The Financial Atlas course in particular provides a useful foundation before either of the other two. However, experienced learners occasionally take courses concurrently — we are happy to discuss your situation beforehand.

What is the refund or withdrawal policy? +

Detailed terms are provided on enrolment. In general, withdrawals made at least seven calendar days before the course start date are eligible for a full refund of course fees. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions or contact us directly for specific cases.
